I need to trim but, I am not willing to part with any hair yet. I did use micro trimming before the chemo and liked the results. I may go back to it soon. We'll see!

Do you let your hair dry naturally or put a product in it so the curls "stick" together more before doing this? I've never microtrimmed, but I want to with minimal botching. Hehe.

Microtrims worked for me too With really damaged hair, sometimes it's best just to skim off the worst, knowing that you'll have to skim it again in a month or so, but you're not losing much.

In my case my hair started getting longer after I started microtrimming as the lack of tangles meant less breakage.

I never thought about it, but I 'm pretty sure no product.

question for the non curly micro trimmers. Do you use Feyes Method or some other way to do it? Feyes doesn't seem like it would work for micro trims. I definitely need a micro trim but Im scared to do it.

ReadingRenee, I don't know if this will help, but I remember a longhaired friend back in the day that would gather her hair into a low ponytail. Once banded, she would slide her hand down the length of it until she got to the ends, making sure they matched. Holding the end together firmly, she'd bring it over her shoulder and in front of her face so she could see what she was doing, all the while making sure no hair slipped out of her grip. Microtrimming commenced. It took her all of 5 minutes (tops) and I couldn't even tell she had done anything. I just remember being envious because she never went to salons.

She had a blunt hemline which I'm sure is easiest to microtrim. If you've got layers or a shaped hemline though, I've no idea.

I use the Faye-method for V-Shape. Microtrims work fine with it.

I have been thinking that I could use a slight trim myself, and the Feye's technique is a possible option. I admit that I AM nervous, due to the possibility of "messing things up". Another possibility is finding someone I know and trust to do the job. I have often wondered if my hair would grow faster with ends in better shape.
