Default Thinking about shaving my head to get coarser hair

I have read a lot about shaving babies' head. In cultures/countries where it's done it's said that it results in thicker and "better quality" hair.

If it works on children, I can't see why it couldn't work on me just because I am older. Unfortunately it did work on my body (leg) hair. I think it's complete BS when people argue that it isn't thicker, it's just that it has sharp ends instead of blunt ends -- I have proof that it has grown back much coarser.

I have a 4"+ ponytail circ. at this point so I can't complain, my hair isn't thin by any means but the individual strands are F/M with some coarse hairs. I have always wanted coarser hair. I hate my current length anyway. I look bad with pixie...chinlength hair but I look OK with very short hair. So I've been contemplating that razor every morning. It's not something new, it's been a couple of months now. This would also mean that I wouldn't go for long hair anymore; my hair would be max 3"-4" even if it grows out beautifully thick because there is no way I would want to go through this awkward APL-BSL struggle again. There is only one exception, if somehow my hair would grow back thick, coarse and curly, at least as curly as it was when I was a kid (3a), that I would grow long because I love curly, long hair.

My plan is to shave my head completely a couple of times as frequently as I can within a 3-4 month period. So not just once. I couldn't care less how it's going to look during those months, I hate how it looks right now anyway, anything is better than this hair misery...

Is there anyone reading this who has done it? Did it grow back coarser?
