I will weigh in on this thread in a month...I just started drinking/applying rooibos last week. All I have to say so far is yum! Also, drinking an extra 2-4 cups of liquids daily is keeping me running to the bathroom every hour lol.
drank - More than 50% hair growth increase
topically - More than 50% hair growth increase
both - More than 50% hair growth increase
drank - Small or no change in hair growth
topically - Small or no change in hair growth
both - Small or no change in hair growth
Topically - Made hair greasier faster
Topically - Made hair less greasy for longer
Any - Experienced side effects annoying enough to discontinue ( which method?)
Any - Decrease in shedding ( which method?)
I do a rooibos tea rinse on my hair once every two weeks, and rooibos tea is the main ingredient in my hair spritz that I made, which I use daily. All I've noticed is that it makes my naturally red hair stand out A LOT more. I haven’t noticed any significant growth from using it topically though.

I applied it topically for at least a month, but noticed no increase in hair growth; also "experienced side effects annoying enough to discontinue", in a way - i.e. it made my ultra-light temple hair orange (the new growth)...
(Well, I did use henna too, but very little and not pure henna on those particular hairs, so they were too orange to blame henna only - it was the new growth that was affected, just where I used rooibos topically.)
Measurement before and after Rooibos Tea Experiment: Not sure, 19" or 20"
Percentage of growth increase: before it grew about .75 now it's 1.25-1.5 per month
What brand of tea are you using? The Republic of Tea, but also others I can't remember
How and how often did you apply/(drink) it? about two full glasses a day
Why did you choose this method of application? I wouldn't trust putting it on my hair, and it's quite tasty to drink (my mom and I made it as a sun tea in the summer and it was a lovely cold reprieve from the hot sunny days).
What percentage of decrease of shedding did you find, if any? Haven't really noticed any difference.
If you drank it, how did you find the taste? What was it like? A bit spicy, kind of earthy. I always had it cold and with Stevia to sweeten it. When drinking it hot, I like it only sweetened and without milk (which I usually add to my hot teas).
Will you do this for another month +? Why/Why not? Yes, I slacked a little in my drinking it this month and I've noticed a decrease in hair growth, so I know it's definitely from the rooibos! Also I often feel a kind of tingling on my scalp after I've drank it, so that also is evidence of it working to me.
Here's my growth pictures while drinking rooibos, from June 10- October 4th:

I know this is old but just got rooibos and wanted to see if any members on this thread have continued their use and still seeing results?
Growing out bleach and heat damage!
Using CO and learning new updos to forget about length
Currently 23" APL aiming for 26" BSL by Christmas
Today I read an interesting article saying that green tea would also help the hair growth and kiwis. What do you think about that? Worth a try?
Drank it- no change in growth.

Green tea has less antioxidants than rooibos, so you'd be better off with rooibos. If you want to try kiwi, sure, but it's messier than a tea bag imo.
I've just remembered to keep applying it to my scalp as i'm going through another shedding phase, again...as usual...
