Default mid taper slick back question

Hey everyone, I've been experimenting with different hairstyles lately and decided to try the mid-taper slick back look. I've got a few questions and could use some advice from those who have experience with this style. First off, what's the best way to achieve that perfect mid-taper? I'm not sure if I should go for a gradual fade or something more defined. Also, what products do you recommend for keeping the slick back in place without it looking too greasy or stiff? I want a polished look that doesn't scream "product overload." Any tips on maintenance and daily styling would be greatly appreciated too. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions!

Your best bet is probably finding a stylist that's specialised in these hairstyles and consulting them.

I had to look up that style, but it turns out I had something similar to that when I had a pixie cut!

I agree with Ylva, that it would be worth asking a stylist. It really depends on your hair, whether there is any curl to it and how it lies. It was trial and error when I first had my hair cut like that, and each time I went to the hairdresser she asked me how my hair had been, so we could decide whether to make any changes. The style requires frequent haircuts so those changes can be made fairly quickly. I really loved the style (mine was a bit different, with long bits at the front). My hairstyle got shorter and shorter at the back because my hair is more wavy underneath and my hair stuck out in weird directions, so if in doubt it just got shaved off

Although I needed to go to the hairdresser every 6 weeks or so, day to day styling was easy. I didn’t need any product, but I used to put some serum in anyway to reduce frizz and enhance the shine. I used a serum by Noughty, I’m not sure if those products are available internationally (I’m in the UK). The serum changed formulation though, actually I remember now that it wasn’t by Noughty, it was the previous company’s incarnation. I think they were called Naked. I stopped using the serum when the formulation changed as it seemed drying. I didn’t notice a drying effect but the product smell was too alcohol-y.

It’s worth finding a hairdresser or barber that understands your hair type and they can recommend hair products too.
