    Increased blood circulation to the scalp is always a good thing for growth, but it can be done in many ways. The best way is through cardio exercise, rather than standing on your head alone. I don't think it will ward off graying either.

    I think the theory is that being upside down brings more blood to your head and thus promotes hair growth, hair health and thus promotes faster growth and delays greying. Unless you have a problem with blood supply tothe head, it probably doesn't make a lot of difference, but if you do have a blood supply problem, it might be literally a life saver.

    Doesn't it seem like all the pressure on the top of the scalp might limit blood flow to it until you flip back upright?

    I've been a regular yogi since November. I practice headstands, shoulder stands, handstands and forearm balances and unfortunately I cant say that I have noticed an increase in hair growth since I started. But there are so many other benefits!
    Grow grow grow, where it stops no body knows.
