Default Can anyone recommend me a new claw clip or an alternative?

I don't see that people use claw clips here too often and rarely see them mentioned, I think this is more due to the fact that long hair is too heavy and doesn't hold right in a claw clip rather than due to damage. Anyway my trusty claw clip of several years has finally gave up on me and broke. I used it everyday instead of hair bobbles/elastics because even though I get the metal free ones I'm still wary of breakage off ponytails. I'm at shoulder length with short layers on the top due to previous damage so many updo's are not available to my hair atm.

I bought a replacement clip like this one linked below but they break easily and I've had to replace it several times. (It's a good thing they're only 50p from work!) I also find that it's not as comfortable as my old one, maybe due to it's straight structure instead of curved?

Can anyone recommend me a new happy claw clip to keep my hair under control? Or has anyone tried the Goody Spider Claw Clip and found it worthwhile?

I used to have those claw clips, and I would use them after the prongs broke off up until they just couldn't be used anymore. Now, I use octopus clips, and I am yet to have one break.
They're good for use on buns as well as just flipping hair up.

My hair is thick and just about at waist length, and I probably have at least til the end of the year til I outgrow these clips for buns.

I find them just in the hair accessories aisle at drug stores. I have a ton of different colours.

I have a couple of octopus clips for the shower. They are all from H&M.

Thanks guys! An octopus clip? I've never heard of them but it looks similiar to the Goody Spider clip too. I'll be popping along to the shops very soon to get my hands on one and give it a go

I'll have to keep an eye out for these I love using claws instead of scrunchies cause my hair always stretches them out. My claws keep breaking so I think octopus one sounds promising.

I love the octopus clips they're a great shape. I use them in the itty bitty size and have some mediums even though they slip on me. I think you should go for those they are great!

I'd recommend looking at France Luxe. They charge rather more than the usual drug-store hair clips, but I get the impression that they're pretty good quality and last a while.

I like the Linzi clips at Sally's. They have a flat back, so to me they are more comfortable when leaning one's head back against something. My hair is pretty thick too, and they have no trouble holding it up.

I love the Scunci No Slip Grip line. I own little claw clips, but there are big clips in the line looking very similar to the one you have. http://www.hairflairboutique.com/ima...-2pk-2098A.jpg I find mine to be the most durable clip.

Oh and I do like the octopus ones but mine is too small now to hold my hair. Comfy!
