My hair on google images!!!

Holy moley!!! I was googling "henna streak" on google images and my noggin came up as like the 4th or 5th picture!! I have only been using henna since Nov 2010 for heaven's sake. I am just dumbfounded.

I'm not sure if I feel proud about it or slightly weirded out lol. Now I am thinking I might be more recognizable in real life than I thought.

Has this happened to anyone else? I suppose hair images turn up LHCers with a lot of frequency. If so, how do you feel about it?

My albums are all private, so if my hair did turn up, I'd be a bit startled. I've googled before and found images of my artwork, which I had posted on another site. If its on the internet it's "out there". That's why I like the "behind the head" photo style we have here.

I bet if you googled, "extremely damaged hair" my picture probably shows up. D:

I once googled 'ficcare' and was surprised at how many photos I recognised from the LHC on the image results.

Just shows how careful you have to be when thinking about what personal images you are happy to post and therefore share with the world!

It was actually to a thread here where I was showing my henna results. I know when I put it out there it is forever out there but I never thought I would be a henna example on google in less than three months!

I could just delete that particular photo off of my flikr acct, but it doesn't show my face or anything, so I guess it is okay. I wonder how google decides which photo shows up on a search and which one doesn't.

EDT: Whoa, I googled ficcare and I know most of those people!! Who knew we were so famous?

P.S. Pixiedust, I would take that bet. I think you wouldn't show up at all!

My old LHC avatar showed up on page 21 of Google Images. No one in real life could identify me from that picture, so I can't say I really care that it comes up

I wonder how they decide too... maybe on number of hits? Like, how many people have viewed the image in its original posted setting?

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Type in "thin ends" on google images and you will see my pic on page 5 or right around there, lol. I posted a picture of my hair in one of the threads and was complaining about my ends, I'd love to know how certain pictures get singled out to be on there while others don't...

So I just talked to DH and he said "slurp spiders" used by google are probably the cause. I just found out my picture is under "fairytale ends" along with a lot of other members from here... lovely.
