Question How long do you wait to wash after henna-ing?

I henna'ed with Henna Hut Red last night (and really do think I will like the color after it settles) but really want to do a conditioning treatment tonight as my scalp is orange and my ends feel a little dry.... Do I need to wait a few days? Will the color fade faster if I wash today? Henna is so permanent I am not sure if it makes a difference....

Henna is permanent but the other ingredients in the henna hut are not. I always waited at least 24 hours to shampoo after using it......

Just do a conditioner wash; that should make you feel cleaner but it won't strip your hair!

I waited 2 days myself, and used a sulphate free shampoo (actually a CV poo bar). My color didn't fade really.

I usually wash my hair 3-4 days after I henna, not because I'm waiting for it to settle, just because that's about how long it takes to feel dirty. I use Jamila though, not HH.

I think I will wait until tomorrow morning and CO it then... that will be about 36 hours. I just want to get more of the orange off of my scalp! I am also going to oil the ends with some coconut oil to (hopefully!) help with the dryness.

Just an update (in case anyone was wondering), I waited until 36 hours after henna-ing and did a CWC with very diluted shampoo. Did not notice any change in the color (other than my scalp is no longer orange!

The water was very colorful when I washed it but I am not having any transfer of color to pillowcases or clothes. Hope this helps someone else.
