Default Body shop wooden comb from eBay - is this normal ?

Hi everyone I just received a body shop wooden comb from eBay and upon inspecting it the ends are quite rough and not smooth
is this normal or is it fake ?
Do people even fake combs ?
Will this damage my hair ?
thanks in advance to anyone who replies

I bought mine directly in Body shop because of all the recommendations here, but it's not smooth either, wood on the teeth was kind of flaked so I tried sanding it down with not much luck, too hard to reach in the curves. But the one you purchased is probably original (if it has pressed sign of the body shop on the "body"). Bought a Tek (WIDU in the USA) wide tooth comb that is used every single day, smooth like stone and I love it. My hair is fine/medium but fear from possible damage keeps me from using the Body shop comb, but I guess it depends on your hair, try it and see?

I have a BS wooden comb as well, and mine is smooth. I've seen better finished combs but it is smooth.

I bought one from the Body Shop directly (in the shop) and it is smooth.

It isn’t necessarily fake, maybe just bad quality control? I would return it anyway because you won’t want it in your hair.

It’s got the carved in body shop writing on it
It’s smooth all over apart from the tips
I probably won’t bother to return it as it will cost me almost as much as the comb cost to send it back anyway unfortunately

Look into Widu, I believe they are the same? If I'm not mistaken?

Is that the case even if it’s faulty? Shouldn’t they refund you both lots of postage? I would say it’s faulty if it’s rough.

This sounds like poor quality control.
Since you don't want to return the comb, maybe try sanding it with fine sandpaper. The comb will tend to become smoother over time with use.

Yeah if it's just the tips, a little (fine, finishing) sandpaper will do the trick. I agree with Ed on this!
