I use a tangle teezer, or a paddlebrush, as my hair and I both hate combs with the fieriest of passions. They're evil

I have two beautiful combs that I use everyday. My wooden comb lives in my bedroom and I also have a gorgeous little horn comb that I carry in my bag. I love them both equally.

I don't use a comb but I'm thinking maybe I should start too. I want to find out which is the best kind for thick wavy to curly hair.

    I use this comb:

I don't have thick curly hair but it's wide and works well, especially when detangling wet hair when I need to.

I use a seamless plastic 'conditioning comb' (meaning there is space in the middle where you can put conditioner), finger comb and very rarely a medium/fine tooth comb. I want a wooden comb too.

I had a couple of wooden combs which I were quite happy with but after a few months they started splitting between the tines so now I have bought a horn comb

Well, I just got a couple of bone combs from hairsense a few days ago. I am hooked now. They comb my hair with no breakage, so to me that's all I need. Since using them, the "shedding" during combing has dropped to almost none.

I have used a range... my favorite one comes out as 'other' is is a rather old casein one (fake tortoiseshell plastic stuff made from milk). It is seamless and warms up with use, somehow.

I have a feeling that casein might be very much an Australian thing in the 30s to50s. A lot of knitting needles, too.

Plastic comb from Elite. Looks like this:

I'm not sure what kind of plastic it is, but it's a softer kind. Mostly I finger comb my hair while it's still damp and use the comb later.
