Those with unicorn sticks - what buns do you use them with?

I want to wear my pearl unicorn stick so badly but I just can't figure out how to. I need to widen my updo repertoire!

I usually use it like any other hair stick. I just wrap my hair a little looser to compensate for the spirals but it's not a huge deal because of the glossy nature of finish.
