    Default Hair-safe claw clips?

Is there such a thing? I'd like something that I can use to quickly and easily fasten all my hair up, but I don't want to use a hairstick or fork. Are there any claw clips out there that are hair-safe?

This is the sort of thing I'm talking about:

I've got an octopus clip that doesn't seem too bad, but I think with most or all claws, you really need to look at each individual one and make sure that the seams are smooth, maybe filing them down. (I also have a bunch of itty bitty ones that seem fairly smooth, but I use those to hold braids, and I don't think they're quite what you're after.)

Honestly, I rarely use the one I have. A hairstick is so much more comfortable for me.

Okay, thanks. I just wondered if there were any out there that were seamless, or just better than most.

In my experience, the octopus ones don't fit comfortably around a twist.

I don't know why claw clips wouldn't be hair friendly.

Any claw clip should be ok. Just test the edges with your finger or a pair of pantyhose to see if it has any sharp areas that snag. Usually they are along the seams on the teeth, from the plastic being molded. Then you can sand them off with a nail file.
Or if you don't mind dropping a chunk of $$ you could get some France Luxe clips. They are higher quality.

I've had hair catch in the clasp part of a claw before. Maybe I just wasn't being careful enough, though.

The France Luxe ones look nice, but they are spendy little things!

Yes France Luxe's clips are pricey, but they are wonderful, it's what I wear now. My hair is too short for the great updos, but they certainly do the job well.

France Luxe is top quality, and the color selection is excellent. It is worth the cost.

Thanks for the reviews on the France Luxe clips. They do look very nice! Maybe I'll have to splurge one of these days!

I looked at Wal-Mart today, but the only clips that looked *maybe* big enough to handle all my hair came two or three to a package, and I really only want one. I think I'll check out Walgreen's and CVS next.

Truly, it's worth the money? I'll buy anything, and I spend a fortune on my hair, but I have to admit I balked at these prices.

I get 12 or 18 (little) clips at Sally for 3 bucks. I just looked at the one in my hair; it's seamless, no hair catches on it anywhere, and the teeth are slightly rounded.

I don't mean to sound so doubtful, it's just that it takes a lot for the price of something to make me catch my breath. France Luxe just did, though. I'm shocked
