I love looking at the pictures on this thread! Beautiful Has anyone else found that their ability to braid their own hair has got worse since they started braiding other peoples? I now can't even do a tidy basic braid on my hair, it would seem, but can do other peoples' hair better than ever! Frustrating!

Thank you! I have to make them really high. I'm growing out some rather tragic bangs.

That's so pretty Arete! The flower adds such a nice summery touch. Is it a clip, or an artificial flower tucked in there?

I love this thread! I've been slowly reading through it for a month now and just got to the end So much inspiration here! I do have one question:

I like to part my hair to the side, and I also like twin braids. The two don't go together so well--one braid is thicker, the tension is different so the braids curve/place differently. I think I got it to look ok, but does anyone have any tricks?

Part your braids in the back directly down the middle.

After going back through the thread a ways, I saw the hint to try french braiding from a half-up, if you have difficulty. (I'm sorry, I can't remember who said it!) It totally worked! It helped so much, in fact, that my french braid looked like a loose french braid- as opposed to a bizarre random hair weaving experiment. I'm hoping that in the future, it will just get better. (It will have to wait until I can get up the guts to try again, though!)

Braid Question: (I didn't know where else to put this) In looking back at the beautiful hair braid photos on this thread I saw the neato Frozen movie braids. I saw wondered if the "Frozen" movie braid is the same thing as the "Sleepless in Seattle" movie braid? Long, and loose and sweeping (and totally romantic looking!). Since I recently saw the movie, I couldn't get her hair styles out of my mind. End of movie= low pony maybe with rope braids. But the braid at the beginning... is it the "Frozen" braid?

Expert braiders: what is your take opinion?
