You folks have such awesome skills!!

Today is Dutch Braid day - nowhere near as skillful or as exciting as you ladies and your amazing 'dos

I really wish I could get the tail to go longer but even without layers it seems I am cursed with a rather long tassle :S

I'm a fan of long tassels on braids. I think it looks good.

I braided my hair for the first time in a while today and got excited. Look at the length! Almost to waist braided! The angle is a little off.....husband was laying down and didn't want to get up. Lol

It won't be long and I will stop and maintain/trim out damage! Hoping to get the hip or tailbone length stretched before I do that.

Chopped it all off, grew out henna, and having fun starting over.

Well I can now braid okay on my mannequin, I'm not even too painfully slow, here's some pics:
    Dutch:

    French:

    Waterfall:

I can also do a french fishtail, but it ends up quite loose Any tips for keeping it tighter? Also I really want to learn a dutch fishtail (http://www.prettygirlshairstyles.com...ishtail-braid/) if anyone had a good tutorial or any tips to share I'm a bit disappointed that I can do braids on the mannequin without too much trouble but I can't do them in my own hair :,(

PS excuse the mess in the pics

Here's a French fishtail from last night! My arms are still a bit sore, and it has since been slept on. As for tricks on making them tight, not much help there either; my hair will sag on account of weight no matter what I do.

Fishtail braids are much less time-consuming than I remember, but it might be because I zoned out for about half of it. XD
