Wonderful use of colorful and thin ribbon to accent the beauty and thickness of your braid, Caitriona.

I English braided my hair today. For some reason, I can't attach the photo here, but I'll be sure to after I figure it out. Oh, and does anyone have any tips on braiding? My braids tend to be uneven towards the bottom since I have to pull it over my shoulder.

Caitriona, your five-strand with ribbon is gorgeous! I just bought a pack of white ribbon to practice braiding with ribbons, but success is mixed right now. :P

RedRaven: Most people need to pull their hair over their shoulder once it reaches mid-back or waist-length. If you make sure your braid is even when it's over your shoulder, it's going to be even once you flip it over to your back.

When braiding, always make sure to keep the strands of hair separate after each crossover. Hold the braid with one hand. Use your other hand like a rake, going SLOWLY down the strands to separate them. Then continue with the next crossover until the braid is finished. Keeping the strands separate keeps the ends from "self braiding" and getting snarled up.

Lace rope braids down the side turned into four rope braids and then four strand braided together battle braid.

Ooh, that's fantastic! And yes, I'll definitely show some pictures once I get good enough. I think the ribbons are a bit too wide, since they keep wrinkling even in a good attempt to braid them in. It's a good thing I didn't spend too much money, since it was 99 cents for a pack of them.
