Very nice. That's primarily how I braid as well.

So many beautiful braids in beautiful hair!

My first attempt at a french fishtail braid (the strands should have been smaller, but my arms were hurting!):

Wow, it ate a lot of my circumference

Thank you so much, Madora! But no, unfortunately... Well, maybe practicing Prokofiev's 3rd piano concerto is helping a little

Great style, first time seeing this, I guess must be the same as that of Vanille.
Wait a minute, if that is called a 'Dutch braid' then since I live in the Netherlands I have to learn this.

Seriously now, I want to ask, is this 'Dutch braid' making the total length of the hair shorter? I will soon need to find a way to hide my long hair.
Unless, I guess I will have job issues

Viperalus, I have no idea if it is called a Dutch braid because it is from the Netherlands, but it seems to be the official name! I always called it an upside down braid as a kid...

As far as how it affected my length, looking at the photograph, I don't think the braid shortened my overall length much at all. My hair is just about WL, and it looks like the end of the braid is hitting right around the same area.

Thanks CrunchyMama. When I braid my hair (the usual braid) they are shorter than when I wear them down.

Thanks! It's totally natural. Haven't dyed in a few years now.
