best hair darkening mix - product
Hi, a friend of a friend of mine is into ayurvedic things and told me mixes of amla, coconut and castor oil darkened his hair and it kept growing darker for a while after quitting. He wasn't greying and neither am I. I just look better with my hair darker. That person is abroad for quite a while and I was wondering if some of you might know about the best hair darkening mix - product, not a stain or dye,
I've heard about using castor oil overnight but isn't it sticky? or is there a way to avoid it? I've also heard about someone adding tyrosine powder to coconut oil.
If you have suggestions or advice, let me know, many thanks

Hi,
Whats your natural hair collour? there are some herbs known to darken hair, sage tea, nut shells, rosemarry(doesnt workfor me), european blueberries... . I read that nut oil does darken hair althought I dont see any possible chemical explaination for that.

my natural colour is light strawberry blonde, something like that. if you mix them all, would that give an even darker effect? on some boxes I read that it only darkens light hair like amla, that would be good for me. But I don't know where to buy it, I live in Europe and most of all how to mix it

Re: best hair darkening mix - product
powder made of green nutshells is dying hair brown, the other herbs are used to darken hair. the effect would be even, just not as strong as a dye. I never used amla and I dont know anybody that did...you could also use brown or dark henna.
for all things: if you want to darken your hair you can make a strong tea of the herbs, and rinse your hair with it. that would darken your hair over the time. if you want to die it you take the powder and mix it with whater or other incredients(depending what you want) and aply the paste on your hair.

Re: best hair darkening mix - product
My friend's doctor said coconut oil reaches deep into the scalp / skin and carries other herbs. Is it okay to mix coconut oil with a tea? I often hear that you have to leave it on overnight?
I once touched castor oil and it was very sticky. Is there a way ( cooking or mixing for instance) to make it less sticky without losing the effects.
Does anybody know if adding amla would be better than using amla oil?
How long shoul I be able to preserve it after having put it in a bottle.

Re: best hair darkening mix - product
I am using coconut oil its solid at room temperature. It would be tricky to mix it with tea because you would need an emulgator and I guess a termometer, because if you do not mix it at the right temperature the oil would fall out. you could try to cook some herbs in coconut oil, the oil is used for cooking so i guess its temperature stable. some dying agents do not work with oil thought I think indigo is one of them.
good luck

mixing a bit of henna with indigo will darken your hair. Depending on your hair quality and the amount of herbs used it can give you anything from dark burgundy to black and be either temporary or permanent.
