Poll: Do you think the tangle teezer is hair friendly?

I've heard good reviews on here, but when I was looking at the website and it said it was good for backcombing???

(That's not what I plan on using it for)

So, opinions, is the tangle teezer hair friendly?

A wide toothed comb works for me.
    That thing looks nasty.

I had to look it up because I've never heard of it. To me, it looks a bit like a curry comb. It certainly doesn't look curl friendly, but aside from that I don't see why it wouldn't be hair friendly in general.

It might be a good idea to limit voting to people who have actually used the thing. I have fine, fragile hair and I have no problems using the tangle teaser.

I agree. This poll needs to be limited to the people who have one. It will be skewed because the thing looks horrible. I thought so too until I tried it. Now I love it!

That's a good idea, but I don't think I can change my poll now, can I?

I used one at a meet. I didn't care for it. I much prefer my Denman brushes.

My hair is very fine and quite wavy.
Hmm, what should this say? I'm thinking . . .

I adore my Tangle Teezer. I dramatically cut down my detangling time and frustration and amount of hair shed each time, and I notice less split ends and white spots. I love it dearly!

I love mine. I have one in my bathroom and one in my purse. It never snarls my hair or rips out strands. It also feels good on my scalp. Most brushes with bristles firm enough to get to my scalp are too abrasive on it. The tangle teezer is perfect.
    Change is the only constant.

I have a tangle teaser and I really like it. But I use it in very specific cases.

Because I have bad tangles in my hair I have to use the big tooth comb while my hair is still wet. If I didn't the tangles would be set into a dry nasty nest-like "creature" which is virtually impossible to overcome without a LOT of breakage.

However, when my hair is dry, it still can have tangles in it. And what I like most about the TT is that it allows me to "comb/brush" my hair and when it encounters a tangle, I can easily take my TT out of my hair and hand work through my tangle and move on. It doesn't rip through my hair, and alerts me quickly to a tangle without having to go through it first.

When my hair is dry a large tooth comb is hideous and torturous to me. And will not take care of the smaller tangles.

So as strange and dangerous as this little TT looks, it has really been a lifesaver for me.

Again, though, it has to be used a certain way. If I used it on wet hair, DISASTER! But when used properly, for my hair at least, it is a dream to be able to actually "brush" through my hair in long strokes. Something that before the TT I could only dream of being able to do!

    Anyway, that's just my
