The Mini-Milestone Thread

While I was doing yoga yesterday, my braid kept flopping over my shoulder. I thought, "how annoying." And then I thought, "that hasn't happened... ever before." Up till now, my braid was sort of stiff, Pippi Longstocking style.

I just realized looking at my most recent length measurement that I am more than halfway from where I started measuring to my final goal!

I hit a milestone when i finally got a little below BSL, next is WL.

I decided I would try my "old standby" updo today - which I used almost daily for at least a couple of years.
For the updo, I put my hair into pigtails, loop them over the top over my head and sew it into place with a ribbon (hair taping). I would get a sort of horseshoe-shaped roll of hair out of that.
During the time I used to wear this updo, the roots of the braids sort of migrated from near my ears and downwards and backwards, so since it had been almost a year since I had used this updo, I started the braids as far down and near the parting on the back of my head as i could. But what did I discover when I looped the braids over my head? The tassels of the braids stuck out beyond the beginning of the other braid!!

To get the ends concealed the way I was used to I had to loop the braids the other way, round the back of my neck and up on the other side, so that I ended up with a circle instead of a horseshoe-shape!!

Only a bit of the chin length layers are refusing to stay put now. I can actually do an english braid and I only need to make a teeny weeny back poof to make it look nice. English braid(ed bun) was my go to style for ages when I had one length hair for ages.
