Yogurt in Your Henna
Please share your experiences with me.
I plan on hennaing this weekend. I hear good things about mixing yogurt with henna, I'm trying to decide if I should mix with...
1)straight up yogurt
-or-
2)green tea, allowing dye release, then adding some yogurt before applying
Any advice appreciated.

I'd go for the second option, I generally add my yogurt after there's adequate dye release.

Re: Yogurt in Your Henna
Like Olde Soul, I only add the yoghurt at the last minute, after dye release.
I used to add an acidic juice too for dye release, but it appears it doesn't make a difference in the end (that is probably developed in Nightshade's Henna article in the articles section). So now I just mix my henna with warm/hot water, allow for dye release (I personally let it sit for 24 hours at room temperature, then freeze and thaw it to achieve a colder red), then add yoghurt and usually a bit more of warm water.

Re: Yogurt in Your Henna
I ended up using yogurt and green tea. I was going t use just yogurt, but I started with 100g of powder, added about 2 ups of yogurt, but the mixture was still too thick so then I added enough green tea to make a thick yogurt like paste. I then allowed dye release for 10hrs at room temp, and now it's in the freezer. Tomorrow I will allow it to thaw, add a little honey and apply.
Anyone have thawing suggestions, should I thaw it in the fridge first then at room temp, or just let it de-thaw at room temp?
