Wheeee, glad you are ok!!! The crazy things we do!!
From BSL to classic to pixie to chin to ... ??? All my hair is now virgin and LHC-loved.
Yikes! glad you're ok, sad your hair got singed. but curly hair is resilient and hides alot of mistakes, about the smell....vinegar should help, and perfumed oils? maybe a deep moisture treatment like SMT with perfumed oil?
I've never burned my hair, burned my kitchen, burned a car's motor, had a dog who burned his backside sitting on a hot coal...but hair never. (that i remember, maybe i was the crazy toddler who did burn her hair? ) who knows. just give it alot of moisture, trim the singed parts and try vinegar (some nice smelling one like raspberry?)
I hope you stay safe and do keep your hair in a bun while close to any fire surfaces. even a braid tassel can sneak forward and burn.
There seems to be a lot of dangers to long hair, fire being one of them. Also everyone be careful of hot ovens, that can singe hair too.

Hi all, I've been very careful lately; I've not been near the cooker without my hair in an updo.
Bucatini, please keep us posted. I do hope the smell is gone.
Wow! Glad you're all right! Burning hair STINKS, I'm a pyromaniac, and there's no telling how many candles have caught me. Just be glad you didn't have a head full of Aqua Net hairspray! Mushroom cloud!!
