    Default Amla experiences?

What are people's experiences with using amla by itself? How much powder do you use & how long do you leave it on? How has it helped you? Thanks!

This thread has a wealth of info on Amla and other indian herbs

    http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...highlight=amla

Its really long so if you dont feel like sifting through it all just hit the "search this thread" button on the upper right hand side and search Amla

    Hope this helps

I was reading on the Long Hair Care Forum, about some ladies using straight amla powder and they were really loving it. I believe it was for hair growth and especially to help maintain their curls, and funny cause I was talking about it to someone else recently.

I can't come across the thread as yet but hopefully someone will bring it up and maybe I can post it here.

Interesting. I have made an amla "tea" by using my coffee maker and putting the amla powder in the filter and I used it to clean my hair and scalp by dipping the length in and pouring the rest onto the scalp and scrubbing. I had to use way more conditioner to get a comb through my hair and the amla seemed to cause dryness.

I would like to know what other people use for their measurements. I used 1 T amla to 2 c water, perhaps it was too much.

I haven't used amla by itself but I mix in with cassia and it works a treat. I did a sample test with cassia alone and cassia/amla and the cassia/amla curl was twice as thick!

I haven't used it by itself either, I imagine it would be drying on the hair... but as a rinse maybe not so much. I'm going to try that one day

So, if you use amla on its own, you won't need say 100 grams like henna? Also, does using amla on its own change the colour of the hair?
