What to do about rough hair sticks?
I bought some hair sticks on ebay & they feel kind of rough & snaggy going into my hair. I was wondering what is the best way to smooth them?

Nail files are good too. Esp on seams.

Re: What to do about rough hair sticks?
When I cut down some plastic sticks I got on eBay I just used a nail file and a buffer to get the ends smooth. Worked perfectly for the acrylic/plastic material, but it was a pretty small job. For something that needed more work, superfine grit sandpaper would probably be better. If it's wood, you may want to oil it after sanding to seal the areas you worked on - I use jojoba oil for my wooden comb.

I've had good results from a nail file followed by a nail buffer - HTH

Thank you everyone for your help! I will try the nail file route first.

Check out a beauty supply place like Sally's for nail files in decreasing order of coarseness and pick up a four way buffer also. I use the the finest file that will sand off the seam and then keep decreasing the coarseness to smooth off the scratches that the previous file left till I get to the last superfine stage of the buffer. Usually this leaves whatever I am filing glassy smooth, but If I'm really being picky I follow with a chamois buffer and some beeswax to really make it uber smooth and glossy.
