I've heard it has cleaning powers...I'm just not sure if I want to smell like a hero sandwich all day...lol....

Has anyone ever tried this? Am I wrong?

I have no idea I was wondering because of the sourish and astringent taste if the pickle juice may be drying over time though.

I would think that the cleaning effect of this would be very similar to using ACV or other vinegars, given that pickle juice is mostly vinegar. If I were you, I would use ACV instead, mainly because I don't think I could stand smelling like a pickle all day-- ACV's not as bad though, smell-wise, for me.

No, you shouldn't. Many members have tried cleaning with only ACV (or another vinegar) and mostly the results haven't been that great. I can't imagine putting pickle juice in my hair, it just sounds too yucky and smelly, not everything you read is such a good idea. Ohh, and there's salt in it which is drying.

Vinegar, salt and sugar, depending on the recipe of course.

I would not suggest to try that either.
Mainly because vinegar is not cleaning ones hair at all. It ph-level helps to smooth the cuticle and it breakes down limescale residues, but itīs not grease removeing i.e. cleaning.
And of course because of the salt and sugar in it *eek*.

I was just about to mention this until I saw your post.

The smell is what I'm curious about too. Although I don't think it's severely detrimental and don't attest to trying it once or twice, but the ingredients are still worrying so I wouldn't do it long-term.

Well, some people put sea salt in their deep treatments. And both salt and sugar would rinse out with water. But I wouldnīt use it anyway, because I donīt think it would work. I can recommend using a white vinegar rinse after washing, though. Good for your scalp.
