Feria 66 Ruby Fusion. I have tried this myself and was very happy with it, it is a warmer shade, but I managed to pull it off even with my cool skintone. It helps a lot that it's a darker colour: http://www.harmondiscount.com/071249230138.html

Superior Preference RR04 Intense Dark Red. Not my favourite, but it is a bit brighter without being too orange, if that's what you're after: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_e...2_41_large.jpg

Superior Preference 5MM Medium Mahogany Brown. Although it's not a red dye as such, I think this would look stunning on you. The red will really sparkle in the sun. I have not tried any red shades in the superior preference line, but the brown shades worked well for me: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_e...2_14_large.jpg

Herbatint FF1 Henna Red. I've been wanting to try out some of the herbatint shades. They've received good reviews, but I haven't tried them myself, so I can't vouch for the results. If the colour is accurate, this shade would go really well with your skintone: http://www.ohsonaturalinc.net/herbat...-hennared.aspx

    Clairol Hydrience 3RR Ruby Twilight
. Hover the top right one. I love hydrience colours, but I haven't tried this particular shade myself: http://www.clairol.com/hydrience/shade_palette_red.jsp#

It's hard to say how vampire red would look on you, cause it all depends on what condition your hair is in, what colour it is, how long you leave the dye on, how much dye you use, which formula you choose, etc, but it looks like it will suit you, since it's not too warm. I'd say go for it, if that is the shade you want I really want to try that Henna Red from Herbatint now. They also have a pretty cool Crimson Red.
Oh, thank you - that is fantastic!

I think, after talking to people on other forums, I'm going to go with henna first (I am a complete pain, I know, but I think I'd feel a bit guilty if I didn't at least try the chemical-free route first) but I do still have some reservations about the colour - it should end up looking something like this/this, going on natural colour and henna-ing process, but henna can be pretty hard to predict - like Manic Panic, I think - and I'm not sure what you'd think about that sort of colour, anyway? Too warm, still?

I figure it's okay just to do it, though, since I do want a red shade and so can just dye over it if it's not right! And I'll definitely save your post - the Herbatint Henna Red is particularly beautiful (I say go for it; I imagine you'd look really good), and I love the Feria and Hydrience shades, too... so much gorgeous colour!

http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ictureid=44402: This shade looks beautiful, but in the sunlight pic it looks a tad warm (with some orange to it). I honestly think you should try whichever shade you want. I've dyed my hair many times, sometimes with unwanted results, but it can always be dyed over again or cut off Please post pics when you've dyed your hair. I'd love to see the result! I think you are definitely on the right track with the shade of henna you linked. Like I said earlier, I don't know much about henna, but do your research on what to mix it with to make sure it's not too orange if you want to avoid the washed out look
