Wurly and Curly thread!!!

I have 2b/c type hair with growing out layers that just frizzes and looks horrid no matter what. I always put in leave in conditioner and scrunch it up but it still frizzes around the top. What am i doing wrong? Also how do you revive day after hair?

my hair was/is like this also. Firstly most important i have to use some kind of mousse or gel to keep it under control. Mousse is what i use right now because it holds the best it seems and also gets all my hair. With gel it was crunchy and if i didn't spread it well parts of my hair would get missed and would frizz, it also took a long time to dry. Anyway. Now that my hair is getting healthier it really frizzes less on top now. But my canopy is still frizzier than underneath which curls really nicely. Also if I just put a leave in and don't want to put any mousse or anything. I twist the canopy into curls as it dries and that helps it frizz less.

What type of routine are using now? What products do you use?

Here's a good blog post that covers silicones, polyquats, and soaps (like poo bars).

Here is another article from the same blog that deals with strictly polyquats. There is a link to an NC.com article in that post as well.

I just did a second try on the FSG. I figured I will not put coconut oil, because if I do it before the FSG it will probably just wash out when I do the super soaker thing (as you probably don't know or remember, my hair formed in very stringy curls first time I used the FSG, so I decided to do the super soaker trick), and if I start applying coconut oil after I applied FSG it will sabotage the curls that are forming, since I apply coconut oil from top to bottom for better coverage. So in short, I ended up skipping the coconut oil as my hair dried.

My hair dried SO FRIZZY. I did leave in a conditioner, but clearly it's not enough or something. I tried to sooth the frizz with coconut oil now that it's dry, but I guess it's too late. Apart from the frizz curl formation looks great, not stringy at all this time.

Heidi, the super-soaker method was formulated to be used with lots of leave-in and product. I'm not surprised those are the results you got since you don't use a leave-in, even if you count the coconut oil. It's basically just soaking your hair without the 'base coats'.
