Eep, no -- where did you get that idea? I use SLS-free (or low-SLeS) shampoo for washing, rinse out the shampoo, then do my vinegar rinse, then comb my oils through while my hair is still soaking wet.

Thanks for correcting my misunderstanding! I guess I just read it wrong. I'm going to try your method today.

Hello fellow Wurly Curlies ! I am new to LHC and this thread. I am trying to break my 'cone habit by learning to tame the tresses with natural products. Any tips would be welcome!

    Hi dtaylor,

Welcome!! I would recommend reading, reading & more reading on this site: especially the cowashing thread. Other interesting reading is the book curly girl by Lorraine Massey and also check out the website: livecurlylivefree.com. 1 helpful hint when going cone free is making sure you strip the cones completely and starting fresh. Ok... question...

The longer my hair gets, the more frizz appears. I recently fell in love with coconut oil, but it doesn't tame frizz... it actually accentuates it by making it shiny. Any excellent anti-frizz remedies or products?

Do you also have frizz after using Giovanni Direct Leave-in?

What helped me a lot was to put on top of it Curl Keeper from C.H.S. (Curly Hair Solution). It stopped frizz completely. Additionally it added a lot of shine to my hair!

Other gels are also working, but the Curl Keeper is a miracle.

    dry & curly: shoulder - APL - BSL - waist - hip?
    wet & straight: shoulder - APL - BSL - waist (15cm/6inch to go) - hip - TBL - classic

Yeah... The leave-in works great, but it han't removed the frizz at all. Is the CHS stuff a gel? I don't want to lose any volume and gel does that to me.

I haven't tried this... But it's on my to-try list (ever growing ) It's so simple and it seemed to work for some, so it's worth a try!

I'm one of those wierd ones that coconut oil doesn't work that great for either, I mean it feels nice but no frizz help. So, I use the tiniest amount of EVOO and that seems to do it for me when I can't use the FOTE due to dew points.

It's worth a try if ya have some in your kitchen already. HTH

Coconut oil doesn't work well for me so far either, I think it locks in too much protein, which my hair dislikes most times.
