The bun is my first attempt to the french pinless bun (but there is a bobbypin hidden somewhere...) And hopfully you will see my hair in all it's poofy glory!
That is absolutely gorgeous! And gorgeous in your hair as well.

They used to be substantially cheaper, like maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the price. However, they have also gotten more elaborate.

Mwedzi is right, they have gotten a lot more elaborate. If you look at the previously sold items, the inlays on his earlier sticks were a lot more basic. I don't think the prices he is asking are unreasonable considering all the work and the costly materials that go into his current designs.

For simple pieces, the price is still lower than the very elaborate inlay-heavy sticks.

I paid $40 for this stick in 2010, for example:

They purchased an expensive machine that allows them to do the more elaborate inlays. Their prices must reflect the cost of overhead, and they have to pay off that machine along with all of the other things in Dave's shop that haven't already been paid off.

Thank you, islandboo and mwedzi! The quality of this stick is wonderful, they are expensive of course, but I think it is worth it. It is a piece of art!
