Anyone used the small flexis for decoration?

I'm considering getting two smallish flexi 8s to wear in my hair as decoration and holding small amounts of hair, kind of like french combs. But I don't know if I should get the extra small or the minis. I just want them to hold some of my hair back on the sides. I'm right smack on the border between ii and iii. What size would be best, anyone tried?

I would imagine the minis. I used to wear the minis for half-ups, so I think with your hair being thicker than mine, they would work for you as "side combs".

Just be sure.. the mini's are VERY small!!

For just some strands I'd take the minis, for more than just some strands XS. Minis are really small.

same here! everytime i take a look on my minis i'm surprised how small they are.

I was going to say get mini's instead of XS, but I didn't think they were that small at all(compared to other people posted in this thread!). I think there's a fairly big gap between the sizes mini and XS, as I use XS for ponytails and mini's for decoration. I think XS would be too big.

I don't own any minis, but I have an XS that I bought for half ups. The XS will hold two pieces from in front of my ears together at the back of my head, but will not hold enough hair to do a true half up. I think if you were taking just really small strands from the sides, that the XS would maybe be a bit too large though.

ETA - the size recommendations they post on the flexi-8 website are fairly accurate, but they measure in diameter instead of circumference, which is a bit of a pain - you could just look at the size of what you want to pin back and go from there.
