So awesome, now I want one too! Need to start saving some money How big moon you guys think is needed for 40-44" hair? (Kinda thick hair, I measurd my ponytail ealier today and got a bit over 4,5 inch, I think it's nearer 6 inch when I'm at a good health)

Aw, sorry no one answered this ^^^ question. I would say 4.5" or 5".

Here is my newest moon. 4" bloodwood and cedar on other side. Ponytail holder (essential) and cinnabun. Moon in first loop. Small spin pin for ends.

@Wildcat Diva, it looks beautiful. I didn't know you had a YouTube channel, checked it out just now. The way you inserted the moon is kind of tricky, this was never for me.

    Thank you, duchess.

Playing around tonight trying to help a friend figure these out. This bun is all air. Fun though.

And... hold the mother flipping phone. I burned some brain cells to come up with a moon bunning epiphany. Call NASA.

    Maybe.

I used one ponytail holder first like normal. Put moon under the pony. Spread out hair over it as much as possible. Used a SECOND elastic to ponytail this loop of hair over the moon. Then drape tail around to make the bun. Decorative only for the moon, which I care not one flip about either way. I'll report back if it sags or stays.

Wow, I'm very interesting in purchasing one of these for my hair but I feel my hair is probably not long enough yet. They are gorgeous though. Maybe I can buy one and use it to motivate me on my journey this year? I don't know.

The only person I can think of who makes hair moons right now is forEVAhairforks on Etsy.

If you want one that looks like the originals, Sirius Hairtoys on Etsy has them from time to time. It looks like they haven't had any in a while, though. They have a collaboration with Ravenscroft itself so theirs look almost exactly like the originals and some are with the shop's own twist (the carved ends). As far as I'm aware, no other shop has a collaboration with Ravenscroft which makes that type hard to find.

In case the shape matters to you, I have noticed that other shops tend to have flatter moons whereas the Sirius/Ravenscroft moons are more rounded (more hair stick like). They pop up on the swap board every once in a while.
