Proven Hair Thickness Increasers

Select an option that, for you, worked in making your hair thicker.
If it isn't up there, please list what worked for you, and if you tried something from above and it didn't work, or did the opposite, please explain that too.

It might help the many of us whom are trying to achieve maximum amount of hair possible for us.

By thickness i mean more hairs on head, as well as each strand getting thicker.

eta- an example would be discontinuing using chemical hair dye, etc.

My hair has become stronger (I blame the graying process and henna for it) and more numerous, too (for this, I blame MSM and essential oil massages). Incoming layers and better haircare must have had an influence, too. In the last two years, I have added 2 cm (that's 0.8 inches) to my ponytail circumference.

I stopped shedding critters when I thrown away that SLS shampoo. I have quite a taper now, but my hair at the crown seems to become thicker. Can't wait for it to become measurable.
With the miconazole, I noticed my temples were filling back.

When I did use shampoos with sls my hair was very thin indeed. So I now use shampoo bars which are natural and no chemicals My hair has imporved alot

But last week my hair was a mess it was very thin looking and horrible! I had one heck of a bad hair day

So I used my shampoo bar as normal but this time I washed my hair upside down with a shower head.

My hair was alot thicker and my fairytale ends looked better too! I was amazed

So I think personally, washing hair upside down gives more volume and makes hair look thicker?

henna definitely adds a bit of bulk to my hair.

and i really think switching to shampoo bars has helped. i'm not sure if it's because of *adding* the shampoo bars or *stopping* the chemical stuff, but either way my hair seems thicker.

also i'm pregnant so i can't discount that. i guess we'll see when the baby gets here.

I picked less washing frequency...although I'm not sure it increased my thickness, per se. I think it just gave me more overall body and volume, which LOOKS thicker. At any rate, washing less has improved my condition immensely, and it looks and feels thicker.

Gentler treatment has increased my thickness, especially sleeping on a satin pillowcase.

In my observation, hanging out on LHC is a thickness increaser. Gentler handling and wearing hair up tends to mean less breakage, and many LHCers report thicker hair after a year or so here.

Henna also adds thickness for me, but only temporarily. I'd have to do whole-length hennaings again to plump it again.

I noticed that henna makes hair texture more coarse. The two women i know of (my aunt and my mother in law, age 56 both) who have the thickest hair have been using oil masks (oil/ almond/ amla/ castor...) before washing hair. I try to follow the same track to retain my thick hair.

I had very thin hair. I lost it due to medical reasons (side-effect of the therapy). Now I managed to increase my thickness to 2.1 inches; using the over the counter supplements that were especially made for the female hair loss due the hormones. It almost doubled.
I'm new member here, and right now I'm delighted how some of your tips work, and I'm looking forward to try one of the other thickness increasers, especially because the supplements I used are expensive. The whole treatment costed me around £200, so I would not recommended it unless you have severe case of the hair loss.
