Whooo! Some of those are very pretty, but boy oh boy are they pricey! I'll have to make do with what I have. Sure was fun to look, though.

The stone is citrine and the wood is satinwood; the inlaid circle is of course ebony.

Wendy that is so so beautiful. I get so sad when I see that site. I tried to contact the artist to have a fork made for me and never got a reply. I tried a few times actually. I know her site has changed and it doesn't look like she even makes custom designs anymore. Funny thing is that in a week I will be in the same town as her work shop but again I do not think she sells from out of her work space so I don't think I could knock on her door.
I really wanted one of her forks with a wood inlay.

Ooo, that's beautiful, wendyg! Thanks so much for the pic.

morningstar, that's terrible news. I've never tried to order from them, only drooled over the sticks, mostly. Do you know if there's any trouble with customer service in general, or just custom orders?

    Go for it.
What's the worse that can happen? If she says no, you aren't any worse off. She'll probably feel very flattered and
    it would make her day.
And if you're lucky, you might get what you would like...
roll the dice, see what happens!

From what I recall, the issue was customer service (or complete lack thereof). Pretty much a constant problem.

The owner of the site actually registered here and made some excuses, promised to change her ways, claimed she'd learned from her mistakes, thanked us for the feedback, etc., then went back to the same old same old. You could probably find those threads if you search the archive, but I'm not sure it would be worth the effort.

I'd hold off on spending anything at all unless you can buy something from them in person.

Thanks for the advice, Delila. What a bummer -- their stuff is so pretty.

Well, I guess I can continue to drool!

The owner is unresponsive to email, this is true. And it is unpredictable when an item will arrive. But IME it *does* arrive. Eventually. Like the fork in the picture did.

I think I have to get my post count up yet to post pics...

I have two forks - both two-pronged - one is walnut with a silver celtic knot and another is a blondish wood with a tiger-eye. I love them - they are super-smooth, beautiful, and very sturdy.

I had stumbled across the site about six years ago and bought them. I never experienced any problems or long wait; I didn't ask any questions or request info from the seller, just ordered them online. The site now looks very different from then and the prices are too high for me now. I think I paid about $35-$40 for my forks.
