Lookin' lovely ladies!!! I have a question though. When you henna indigo, do you feel either the henna or the indigo fade more or less, or not at all, when you do a one-step?

    These pictures are all beautiful.

Where exactly do you get the henna and the indigo? And could somebody please give me or link me to instructions? I am strongly considering doing this.

    THANKS

tooqute2nv: On my hair, I can see the indigo fading a little and the henna starts showing though a tiny bit.

Here is my hair before the first henndigo:

    Here after:

My signature has the picture of my hair after two henndigo treatments.

Oh, I was supposed to mention the mix... I use 25% henna and 75% indigo. I mix henna with tea and let the dye release overnight and the next day I mix indigo with water and put the two together and let it stay on my hair for 3 hours.

I just love it how much healthier my hair looks

tooqute2nv - I find that indigo on my hair is very, very permanent! I have done the main 'one step' process most of all, and if I have ever done a 2 step version it was a full strength henna initial treatment, and then an indigo gloss (indigo mixed up, left ten min, and then added to condish before applying).

xoLegallyAubrey - I've used the following suppliers, and found them all fantastic:

    Henna Sooq

Mehandi (the shop on the Henna for Hair site, an excellent resource for instructions, photos of people's results etc etc)

    And in the UK:

    Henna Boy

    Renaissance Henna

Other information about colouring your hair with henna and other herbs such as indigo can be found here, in Nightshade's excellent article here. One word of warning, I have found dying my hair this way to be the most permanent thing I have ever known, so be very sure you want to do this before you start covering your hair in the mud!

Hello LHC'ers! I have been lurking around here for a while, but this is the first time a post a comment. I thought I would never change the colour of my hair again, but after seeing your pics I am in doubt again.

Almudena, I am a fellow Spaniard (qué tal? ), and you have my dream hair. The first time I saw your siggy pic I decided I would take care of my hair again.

Congratulations to all of you on your great hair!

Question!!! Once you mix your henndigo together, can you still freeze the leftovers like you would with just henna?

^If I remember right, indigo will not work anymore after freezing. It has a very fast dye release, that's also the reason why henna paste is made first and indigo only just before using.

I do henna, and tried indigo for awhile and then went back to henna only, I originally have dark hair, anyways.

I just wanted to say you get very nice colors with the indigo, all those shades of brown and black. And everyones hair look so shiny. Very encouraging.

My hair is shoulder length now... but that is nothing to flaunt.
15Apr2013 Hair is 1-2" shy from the pic above. Much better.
