    Default "Undiscovered" Hair Stick Artists

So Etsy is a wonderful and evil-filled (as in it's evil to take my money away!) place. We all know some of the big "names" in hair sticks, but I thought maybe we should have a thread for all those not-quite-as-well-known artists.

Forest Treasures in Australia doesn't do many hair sticks, but he started making a few and I happened to buy this one:

It's Queensland Black Walnut. It's a BEAUTIFUL stick. Pictures cannot do the satiny smooth finish and deep color justice. It's expertly shaped, a little longer than other sticks, and quite sturdy.

Share some of your recent hidden treasures!

Very nice. He has some gorgeous pieces. I hope he branches out into hair forks. (that's sort of a pun - right?)I'm in complete lust over this bowl. But I can buy a lot of hair forks for $550.

Disclaimer: I should say that I was a consultant for this seller and received two sticks for my efforts.

I don't know how undiscovered she is (I haven't seen her mentioned here) but I'm a big fan of beetnik505. I love her simple designs, and her sticks are so smooth. She's very nice to deal with too, and open to custom orders (I'm always trying to cobble together an idea for one). I have three pairs from her at the moment (one pair was actually free, to thank me for my return custom - I had bought a lovely pen from her too). And I just ordered a pair of petites a couple of days ago - red heart, maple and pink ivory together on little 5" spirals
Actually she has a beautiful listing up at the moment -- walnut and malachite ... SO here are my pics

My first pair - Brazilian Cherry wood with green agate inlay. My photo is rubbish, so here's the link to her sold listing for it...

Petite Walnuts (5 and 1/4" length. Her petite sticks are all around 5"):

    Free pair of Poplar spirals!

And here are the ones I'm waiting on

I ordered. Chocolate and vanilla spirals sounded too delicious to pass up. Never shop when you're hungry!

Lovely! Try not to eat them! I just saw the unusual heat-treated purple-heart sticks she has put up, and kind of want them now too *reining self in*

By the way, great links lapushka - they'll keep me busy for a while
