Yep! Mix 1 part honey with 1 part shampoo and work into your hair.

Then let it sit for about 20 minutes then rinse and condition. A more potent shampoo like head and shoulders may work better

I had this problem before with chemical dye and managed to get loads out with a mixture of baking soda and dandruff shampoo (I used Vosene which is really cheap) - mix about half shampoo and half baking soda to make a paste then put it on damp hair and leave for about half an hour before rinsing. You need to use loads of conditioner afterwards though as it's really drying but works well on colour

If these ideas don't work you could use colorfix. It can be found at a beauty supply store. It's chemical, but not near as damaging as bleach and coloring. There are many threads here on lightening dark or or removing black dye. A search with the words black dye would probably get you quite a few hits.

Warm olive oil is said to pull color.

Honey lightening has been reported to lighten too dark dayed hair for several people very successfully, with no damage whatsoever.

Yep My mom's used it several times. Just give the honey and shampoo a shot first before worrying about something more harsh. The shampoo will help pull out the excess dye.

Here is an example of honey lightening after lightening a cool-aid dye that honey and baby shampoo had helped remove but only to some degree.

The condition of her hair, post honey lightening.

I had recommeded baby shampoo and honey first, as it is easier to try.

Another example, this time honey lightening removing old black dye from hair.

When did you color it? Use baby shampoo or head and shoulders every day, use olive oil masks to draw out the color and condition. Any newly dyed commercial dye color should fade significantly after 2-3 weeks of strong shampooing and oiling.
