I believe people use BIG rollers to straighten hair naturally.

a cold hairdryer and AVG works well for me, not pin straight but straighter than it is naturally.

Yeah I was thinking of something like that. I mean if you can curl by pinning it up why not straighting it.

Yes, both roller-setting and wrapping techniques can straighten out waves or curls. For roller setting, you need at least a two-inch roller.

I second the huge roller suggestion. They need to be the absolute largest ones you can find, and use large segments of hair to insure the least amount of curling.

You can also try banding. When your hair is wet, make a ponytail. Then put ponytail holders along the length, spaced about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch apart, depending on hair length. Let hair dry, then take bands/ponytail holders out. This technique does not straighten my hair completely, but it does give me really loose waves. HTH

I've tried bubba tail (ponies down the length about every inch), and Heidi's Crown Wrap method. I have not tried the large magnetic rollers, but think I might give it a go.

Recently, I've noticed that when I do protein treatments my hair dries semi-straight.
