Health for sure! Why would you want long hair if it looked awful?

Health. Perhaps not 100% perfection, but up to a level of tolerance where hair looks "good enough".
I mentally chop off in my head the ratty, thin ends of hair I see in pictures or real life up to the point where the hair looks healthier. I've trimmed many a classic length up to BSL in my private thoughts!

Why do you need to choose?

I do the same thing. And when people ask if they have reached a milestone in hair growth, my eyes naturally go up to wherever it looks thick and healthy. So, I have difficulty saying that a milestone has been reached unless it's all the same length.

Health! I do hate getting my hair cut or trimmed (salons seem to think a trim is 2 or more inches, which is not a lot to some ladies here but to an almost waist-length shorty, it brings me back up to MBL). However, I don't find unhealthy, split hair to be particularly beautiful.

Definitely health. I've just trimmed back to shoulder length for that reason. Cut out the layers. So all one lenght now. Now for some growing.

Probably length, but only because I've never experienced hair that is either dreadfully unhealthy or gloriously healthy. I have experienced very short hair and obnoxious in-between lengths, and I really don't miss any length that preceded waist, even though my extremely short hair never tangled like it does now.

I meant to achieve the length, but although my hair is healthy, it naturally tapers after BSL and I dislike the look of my thin ends down to BCL.
