My dymondwoods need refinishing and my woods don't. That gives the nudge to wood.

Regular wood by a mile. Diamond wood just looks cheap and fake. If I was going for a bright colored toy, I would choose acrylic over DW.

I like both. I think I prefer real wood because the grains can be absolutely amazing, but I like the brighter colours of Dymondwood, the fact it's waterproof, and that the chatoyance is always there (I assume, judging by my modest collection of 2 ) For natural colours, though, give me real wood any day.
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...

    Both!

I love the combinations, and colours available with Dymondwood, but real wood can have such beautiful grain patterns, spalting, and chatoyancy. There's so much warmth to it.

Dymonwood is obviously much more flashy, but it's nice it has water resiliency and is a much lighter material than real wood. I have fallen in love again with wood as I am not making some of my own hairtoys. Coating real wood in Poly is a sacrilege. Why, oh why? I love the grains of natural wood and also experimenting and getting to know the different properties of each type and the different finishes that bring out the beauty of the wood.

I love the idea of Dymondwood but have yet to see a color combination that does anything for me, so regular wood it is for me!
