Re: terminal length hereditary?
I'm by far the longest-haired in my family, but I don't know that there's much correlation between my terminal length (which I have yet to find), and my mother's. My mom claimed that her hair would never grow much beyond her shoulders. I think treatment played a role (she's at least a wavy, and was known in the 70s to have used a clothes iron to try to straighten it), and probably trimming, but if she couldn't get it to grow longer, to some degree, I believe her.
I've got some taper that I don't think will fully grow out, but I know that my hair can make it to my rear, at least, and I hope it will go considerably further.

Re: terminal length hereditary?
I have no idea what the terminal length is for me or anyone in my family. Most of the people in my family have very long hair. My great grandma had hair to her feet for a long time and that's the longest that I can think of. But we all trim, so... who knows.

Re: terminal length hereditary?
No one in my family has ever reached terminal length, because they either never really wanted long hair or had too much breakage to grow it out. The longest hair in my family is BSL, but I'll get there soon!
