Don't think I could ever do this. I don't want my hair smelling like egg. Yuck.
Oh my, a really bad experience- the smell was terrible, it stayed until the next washing time (it was only later that I heard, that you have to rinse the hair with some lemon juice afterwards because that makes it go away) and it really didn't get any positive effects- no shine or strenght- or anything.

ON MY WAY TO WAIST
I really like washing my hair with egg. It makes my hair fluffy och pretty
My hair has been great the times when I've washed it with egg. It's so soft and voluminous and I don't remember the smell staying on my hair, but I don't remember if I did an ACV rinse after the wash or not. The egg cleans my hair really well. I can't get heavy oilings out of my hair with shampoo or conditioner, but I can get the oil off with egg.
I use the whole egg and mix it with some water to get it less viscous. The mixing with beer sounds really good aswell. I let the egg be in my hair for maybe half an hour or less and then rinse well with coolish water and then with warmer water once it's pretty much all gone already.
Hip ---- BCL -- TBL -- 100 cm of hair!
Growing my virgin roots since the end of 2011. Maintaining at TBL+ in 2015!
I did this yesterday and was surprisingly pleased with the results I beat 2 eggs, a little bit of avocado oil along with a few drops of lemon juice and for the smell I added a few drops of vanilla. I left it on my hair for ten minutes then rinsed with not so warm water. I also conditioned ny hair as usual and it was wonderful..very shiny hair, fluffy and extremely clean and everyone kept asking my how my hair looks so healthy.. My hair is naturally quite dry so the oil helped to undo the drying effect of eggs.
I did that for quite awhile. If I remember correctly I used one or two eggs, water, honey and a pinch or citric acid. Conditioner as usual after the egg wash, I don't know if that is really necessary but my hair was bone dry and severely damaged back then.
yes it does wash your hair clean but the smell... Tried it but husband wouldn't come near me :-)))
Growing out healthy, natural hair since October 2015
I washed with eggs for more than a year...
Pluses:
-Hair grows faster as compared to shampoo
-It dries out less
-After a few months I needed to wash less often
Minuses:
-The smell is there (I didn't mind it, but my BF did). Generally if I used conditioner after, the smell would get covered up.
-Hair is less managable if I wanted to streighten it (I am curly). Maybe this could have been different if I used stronger products - but I was trying to avoid products.
-It is simply easier to wash with shampoo.
If you need tips as to how to make it work:
Scramble a whole egg and add some acid (lemon or citric acid or something).
Apply to dry hair (much easier), and only on the scalp (head upside down and apply). Leave it on for 5-10 min (no need to let it sit more, and if the egg dries out it is harder to wash it out).
Apply some water and just move your hands around there. Leave for a few minutes more, then rinse.
There might be some white strings left over, just take them out with your fingers as you comb.
I used hot water with no problems.
I sometimes make myself a egg treatment for my hair. Here is the recepie:
Two eggs yolks.
Two table spoons of olive oil.
A cup of the fattest milk or cream you can get, organic is best.
Mix this together and then add about five or so drops of Rosemary essential oil. Cover your hair and scalp with this mess and wrap in a towel for twenty minutes and then wash your hair normally, I find it makes my hair soft and makes it grow quickly.
A bit of humor/word of caution about when my Aunt tried to wash her hair with egg:
Do NOT rinse with hot water. It's really, really hard to get cooked egg out of your hair. (yes, that really did happen).
