I hear plaits more often in reference to horse mane and tail styling as opposed to humans. Though it's the same technique.

Braids. I use a lot of English terms and spellings interchangeable because I'm American but grew up with an Aunt who spent time in the UK and consumed a lot of their media and such. But plait is just something I can;t get behind, They're braids to me and always will be!

I grew up using the word plait, but now when I'm on LHC I use the word braid. So depending on who I am talking to I use both.

"Braid" as I learned that English word in the US. I do understand "plait" I just don't use it myself normally.

I’m in the uk and until I joined here used plait. Now I say braid as it’s more common on here. My sons girlfriend who is 16 says plaits.

I try to remember to use braids on this forum, but it's for convention not necessity since we all understand they mean the same.

I'm mexican and how we say braids-plats in Spanish is Trenza-Trenzas

I learned the american way too so I use braids, but plats to me sound kinda posh ha ha ha!!!!

It reminds me of the word chignon which to me is just a fancy word to refer a kinda elavorate low mid bun! XD

Im a natural 1B-C head and growing out from so!
