hibiscus and beet root powder

I read about hibiscus powder in henna but has anyone used beet root powder to push the red tones? The way hibiscus is mixed, is it the same for the beet root powder? Can you mix both? What was your results? Very interested to know. Thank you.

I tried a mix of black tea leaves, coffee, and beet root powder to blend in some highlights (my natural color is auburn-ish). It dulled the highlights for sure but I have yet to use only beet root powder. I think it would be fun to try though since it washes out. I'll try and remember to do it and post a pic next wash!

I would be careful since beets stain skin an almost pinkish red. But hey, could be a fun color!

I've used henna, hibiscus and beetroot but I still noticed more orange than I cared for. I've gone to henna and indigo now. Also wasn't sure whether the hibiscus/beetroot was very long lasting.

This thread has a lot of information about using hibiscus and/or beet root powder in conjunction with henna to get cherry cola/burgundy tones.

Alone, hibiscus and beet root only color hair temporarily. When combined with henna, the stain becomes permanent.

Well I read the thread, great information. Awhile back I placed an order for red reef clay on amazon, taking forever to get here. Anywho, I decided to strand test, mixing henna with the clay to see if I can get tones on the redder side. I'm trying this because I have henna from henna hut (deep red) and it has red clay added, but I didn't use it because it contains indigo, so yah, a no go for me. Here I wait for it to arrive. Tick tock, tick tick.

I'm curious to hear how the red reef clay works for you, reilly0167. And whether the stain is permanent or temporary...
