    Default Pinni's first LHC anniversary

It's my first LHC anniversary. When I started a year ago I was also a forum newbie, I had almost never written to forum before. Few times to ones that are written with my mother tongue. I still make mistakes to my writing but I hope it gets better in time.

I'm growing my own hair color at the moment. There is 5 cm (2 inch) root growth but it's not yet very noticeable yet. When it has been few days since last wash it can look very mud colored, dark and ashy. I hope I could grow my own at least 10 cm to see what my own color is now that I’m older. It would be nicer to grow it all, but if it looks too bad I color it. I want to enjoy my hair.

I didn’t take photo when I joined but my hair was much like it is at the first, not so clear, picture. Sorry about bad quality but I have no better unfortunately. But it was at mid back and very damaged. I could say it was coarse and breaking from ends.

I started to use cheaper market products like Pantene, VO5 etc. and soaked my hair in coconut oil and olive oil.
More expensive hair products were not the reason for my bad hair quality, but I noticed cheaper products can be as good as expensive ones. My hair is now at my original goal, at waist. That was not co many cm away from my length year ago. But it was breaking down then. Now I hope to get at least tailbone length with good care and avoiding color/bleach.

Thank you so much for all the answers, awesome hair pictures you put here, blog articles, articles and advice!

Year already? Time flies! Your hair looks beautiful, and what a lovely back drop: trees dressed up in lace!

It's smart to let the natural colour to grow a bit before really eyeballing and judging it. Natural colour always looks less than when it's next to dyed hair, and on the other hand, hair colour changes as the hair is in touch with elements (say, a summer sunshine), so how it looks like in the winter with few centimeters is very different than how it would look like after summer with 15+ centimeters (and not compared to dyed hair).

Good luck to your hair journey from this day forward, may the growing out be painless to you!
