Been there. Done that. Had the post pixie mullet and had it trimmed off. I sort of wish I hadn't, because I would have been able to make a ponytail much sooner.. Oh well.

You will get there! I've also seen people make little ponytails at the bottom and clip them up. It looks oddly cute.

Twist up the top, if there is enough hair. (Use a bunch of product--gel or hairspray--, if your hair is slippy like mine!)

Growing out a pixie isn't for babies!

Have a snoop though my growth album. I have pictures of my hair down in there, and grew without trimming for 10 months, then had it evened up. I've trimmed it myself ever since.
If you can manage to twist the top back from your face, no one can tell what a hot mess it is. I wore the top "up" for many months, because I wanted to grow it out quickly, and it didn't bother me to put it up. Some people like to wear their hair down, and that's fine, but you'll need more frequent haircuts to keep it looking good.

FWIW: Emma Watson and I started growing at about the same time. I'm WAY ahead of her now, but she has to look classy all the time, and has had lots of trims. (I imagine a jaw clip on the top of the head isn't appropriate for Hollywood starlets? )

Ah, thanks for the information about the mullet! In Sweden we call it "Hockeyfrilla" and only weird pepole stuck in the 80ies still wears it! I think I will save the mullet though, because I want to have my hair layered, it is so heavy. But some hairclips would definetly make it more wearable:-)

I don't use much makeup but I suppose I could get a new lipstick or perhaps a new pair of glasses. I can't wear jewellry to work so I have to think about someting else, a scarf could do it, I guess. Thank you so much for your advices!

You might also want to try wearing headbands.

I'm toughing mine out with jewelry, make-up, and headbands. I feel like I'm mullet-y, but much to my surprise, people still complement my haircut every day like I'm doing it on purpose! (I'm a restaurant manager in a casino, so the rest of me is very "put together.") Just think of how gorgeous it will be when it grows. You're doing a very good job by using natural products and babying your new hair. Good luck!

Hair so short that feels dry? Try clarifying and using different products *first*, before snipping bits off. Trimming needs to be last on your radar if you want to outgrow this stage *fast*!

I think it was try because I've used a lot of styling products with alcohol, blowdrying with heat, washing every day with schampo and simply not taking care of the hair. My hair has always had a tencency to get dry at the ends whenever I use ordinary schampoo. Therefore, only CO from now on! I'd rather have an ugly hairstyle a few weeks longer than to have dry ends

The first picture is in my siggy, I'd been growing 6 or 8 weeks, and it felt like I really needed a haircut. The next one is Oct 2012, and I REALLY look like I need a haircut--I never wore my hair loose like this. It was just too weird looking! The next one is February 2013, and I'd just gotten back from the hairdresser. By this time, I felt okay wearing it down sometimes.

You can get it done. Be very stubborn, and hide the craziness of the grow-out. Believe me, if you wear it twisted up all the time, no one will know how bad it is.
I wore my hair down at Christmas 2012, and a friend asked if I'd gotten extensions! She saw me all the time, but I always wore the front of my hair up, so she was surprised that I'd managed to make 4" of hair! It looked like a lot to her.

I did lots of these. My hair is super straight and slippy, so I needed hairspray, and sometimes teasing to make it stay.

    OOH! I almost forgot!
    THIS IS IMPORTANT:
Your head might hurt when you first start putting your hair up. That is normal. You are used to your hair laying a certain way, and not having anything in it. Your follicles will feel it if you pull the hair in a different direction than usual. You might get a headache after 10 minutes when you put in your first bobbypin. Just take it down, and the next day, try to leave it up for 20 minutes. Increase the time you have it "up" by 10 or 15 minutes every day, and eventually you'll be able to leave it up for long time. You might need a similiar adjustment period with headbands or hats, too.
