Default Using soap nuts as a shampoo

Does anyone here use soap nuts for hair washing? Are they drying? Do they darken hair?

Do you have recipes or tips on how to best use them?

I would like to try them but not if they will darken my silver hair.

Soapnuts left my hair rather dry, so I didn't like it much. Some others loved it.

Ok, how often were you using them? And were you only using soap nuts or other washing methods as well? Did they change your hair colour?

I washed my hair weekly using only the soap nuts. My hair is very dark and did not look any darker, but it would be harder to tell on already dark hair. But I just now searched and read that there is no evidence that soap nuts darken hair. If you still feel nervous I also read that rinsing your hair with white vinegar and water can very slightly lighten your hair color, so maybe using a white vinegar rinse would counteract any possibility of darkening.

I'm praying you have good results with whatever you decide to do.

We used them for laundry for a while when I was a kid. I don't remember them darkening white fabric, so I wouldn't think they would darken hair, either.
