VK Designs sticks

I seem to be having problems with hairsticks right now! A year or so ago I bought some VK designs sticks, they're lovely, so I thought I'd get some more.

The original sticks were 6" which consisted of a 6" rod, plus a bead on the end, so the overall length was a bit over 6".
My new sticks however, while they shoudl all be 6", are actually rod lengths of between 5" and 5.5" and then the topper adding the extra length to take it up to 6".

Has anyone else had this problem, that she seems to have changed the way she works out the length of the stick? Or is this just carelessness on her part like when she sent me a stick which didn't have a nicely smoothed end, it was like a screwdriver.

I've noticed that the ends tend to be a tad rough, but for $6 a stick, I'm willing to take a metal nail file and sand it down.

Yeah, mine were rough too, though like Tapioca says, for the price I didn't mind so much. I didn't really think to measure, since mine fit well enough.
