Is henna ready?

Henna came today, it smells like fresh sweet hay or something, it's lovely! Also mixed up a bit chocolately looking! Mixed it up and it's already staining my skin orange when washed off after 30 seconds. Does that mean it's ready or should I leave it for longer? I am now sporting a lovely orange colour on my hands as I forgot to wear gloves whilst mixing...oops!

I think it's ready! Mine is usually a little lighter than that right before I use it so you should get a nice stain!

Fantastic! I used quite hot water so that might be why.

Henna is now on my head, has been on for about a hour now...no idea how long to leave it on for though?

A couple of hours. More if your hair is really dark, or you want a dark stain.
