Great idea! I have some nice stuff that I never reach for, that someone else might enjoy. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

I like this idea. I have a large ficcare that I still don't have the hang of yet. I'm going to have to ponder if I'm ready to give it up.

It is a shame that it would be abused and not work out, otherwise, it would be fun.

I think this is a much cooler idea than a regular swap, because so often someone posts a beautiful piece but they want something very specific to swap that another person may not have.

Let's assume everyone interested will play fair.

I have seen that there is usually a minimum value set in swap threads so why not do that if some are worried?

Anyway, I love the idea, and have a few items I would be glad to pass along if I saw something I liked!

Agreed, it is sad because it could have been so fun! I can see why the boxes were banned though. Several were stolen and one was later sold off on ebay, I couldn't believe it when I read it.

The only problem with this (especially if the value is set too high) is that some people who don't have many of hair toys yet, or who may not have hair toys from "prestigous" or popular makers that some people may consider "valuable enough".

i actually thought about it, but i didn't want the thread to be about only giving because you received something of value. Rather I was hoping we could take our feeling of thanks in all aspects of life and apply it here. I think a lot of people have sizable collections and some don't. In my opinion the point is the giving, not the toy you got first.

oh i love stuff like this [/B]Quasiquixotic[/B], i only have one semi-friend in real life that i can gift unappreciated toys to. Since i already have a rather large collection can i go ahead and post something without claiming anything? (probably a dumb question but i want to make sure, i don't want to mess your thread up!)

dumb question - what else would you expect from me?!....

how does this work? say I was interested in the original fork offered. now, do I take a pic of something to pass forward and the op decides this is a good item worthy of paying forward and agrees to send me the fork?

or do I simply call dibs on the fork and then post something I want to pay forward and the op has nothing to do with what is used to pay ahead?

or am I simply overthinking the process....
