I'm watching this thread with anticipation
I love how this thread has grown while I slept. It was able to absorb a hiccup and move on.
I go back and forth on requiring international shipping. Splitting the cost is about the same as domestic shipping for me in the us. But each item should be seen as a gift and the gifter can set the rules just like in a raok post they did themselves. I'm hoping that excluding international shipping is the exception not the rule. Does this make sense?
Dweamgoil I think you can participate as frequently as your like, if you feel like you've taken a lot than maybe slow down, but no one should feel that participating once precludes them doing so again. As long as you post a new toy, I think it's all good!

I think this is such a wonderful idea! Looking forward to participating sometime soon =]

The difference is that this is supposed to be a linear, one toy at a time thing. If people decide they only want to ship domestically within the US, and that is incredibly common on the swap boards here, it excludes anybody who don't live in the US from participating. I'm more than happy to make up the difference so people don't find themselves out of pocket, but I really object to being prevented from participating in something because of where I live.
Yes, I really dislike that idea as well kaydana. I was long as you are willing to cover shipping (or half shipping) that shouldn't happen. Unless a person is just flat unwilling to fill out a customs form.
But it if comes to that, I'll "dibs" a toy and offer the next one up internationally only.
Eta: dweamgoil what is the size of your slide?

Some people may be worried about not being able to do tracking overseas. I'm not too worried to do that though. I've done it lots.
As long as the international buyer is willing to make up the difference in postage on the item then there's no reason to refuse to send it outside the US. And I would definitely be willing! I think the recipient also needs to be aware that mishaps are more likely in international shipping, and not hold the offering LHCer responsible
Hie thee to a forkery!
