What characters inspired you to grow your hair?

I always loved fairytales and grew up with the Pricesses and Queens of the Grimm Brothers.

Rapunzel is my all time favorite, but I also love the Goose girl.
I suppose almost every girl wanted to be a princess at some time in its life. ^^"

I also liked Eowyn in Lord of the Rings and a load of Manga characters, like Sailor Moon and Sara Mudo from Angel Sanctuary.
And of course a lot of renaissance paintings of Maria Magdalena and the Venus.

Princess Merida, her hair is, obviously, amazing.
While I'll never have that gorgeous red colour, it's nice to see a character with hair as wild and untamable as my own. She completely converted me to fairy-tale ends, I used to be a huge fan of blunt ends, but hers are so lovely.
As an aside, has anyone else noticed she has like three different hair types? I swear her curls are everywhere from 3a to 3c!

Disney actually stated her hair is 4 ft long if you pull her curls straight!

When I was a very little girl, it was a real person who made me want long hair - singer/songwriter Kate Bush! In later years I've also come to admire Princess Fiona from Shrek, the girls in 'Little House On The Prairie', and a very old friend who used to have the most magnificent dark golden blonde tailbone length dreads!

I'd believe it, curls are weird like that.

Though it makes me wonder if my hair can even grow that long, or if I'd hit terminal length before hip length.

Only one way to find out, I suppose!

Bumping this up to add a couple new hair inspirations from childhood. I'm rewatchjng Worst Witch and I loved Mildred's hair and the rare times when Miss Hardbroom had her hair down.

When I was a little girl, Princess Leia was the first princess I knew about. She is the reason I kept my hair long throughout childhood.

The reason I keep it long now is because it’s part of me, and I love it. But it all started with Princess Leia.
